The second quarter of 2024 has been dismal

New car sales for the year to date are down 26% on the same period last year.

While last year is elevated slightly by changes to the Clean Car Scheme that took place on 1 July 2023, the 2024 YTD new car registrations are down 25% against the average of the last 3 years YTD new car registrations. Used vehicle registrations are down 10% on YTD 2023 and down 15% on the average of the last 3 years.
